BSOD while running heuristics scan

Hello Bamz and welcome:

Essentially your dump file may decode as: STOP 0x0000007a KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR ataport.SYS

Let's gather some additional information in hopes of putting some of this in the proper context.

  • Please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  • The 3 files, from Step 1, to be individually attached from your desktop are: CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.

Thank You.

Hello Bamz:

After running some of those recent anti-malware utilities, did you perhaps retain the logs from those executions? Please continue to retain them for now if you did.

A perplexing number of values are missing from more than a few locations including a non-functional system driver. Please guarantee MBAM's Self Protection Module is unchecked/unticked before actively employing the Clean Removal Process below.

  • Please try the following and let us know if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs. This would be a fresh set of logs if the above step was not successful.
  • The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are: CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.
Please let us know the status of your issue in a reply to this thread.

Thank You. :)

Hello Bamz:

Let's continue on without the dump file.

Instead, please run a Disk Check per How to Run Disk Check in Windows 7. Please follow OPTION ONE till step 4. Then, skip steps 5 through 7 and continue on at step 8.

When the Disk Check has completed use Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log, OPTION TWO to create a text file of the results.

Please attach that text file in a reply to this thread.

Thank you.

Hello Bamz:

I recommend following the advice from the topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and have one of the Malware Removal Experts assist you with your issue.

If, as recommended, you do open a topic in Malware Removal Help, please make reference to this thread.

If you would like to get off to a very fast start, the Malware Removal Experts would appreciate it if you would also Copy and Paste (not attach) both the FRST.txt and the Addition.txt output diagnostic reports from only Log Set 1 into your new topic.

Thank you. :)

Hello Bamz:

Thank you for the files in your last post. I'll continue to strongly urge you open a new topic in the Malware Removal Help sub-forum for further analysis as experts there are permitted to request the use of utilities that are not allowable in this sub-forum. While hopefully choosing that path, I have also asked a Malwarebytes staffer to review this topic's information so far.

We should take comfort in knowing that running the system's chkdsk.exe has made some needed repairs to your HDD possible. As a suggestion, and using your HDD manufacturer's utilities, you may wish to periodically track the HDD's S.M.A.R.T. attribute raw values for early indications of deterioration or failure.

A very brief analysis of your posted dump file shows good consistancy with a related excerpt in your earlier posted FRST report. Interaction with your Malware Removal Helper may enable some further useful conclusions.

Thank you.
