Problem with exclusions

Recommended Posts

Hello and welcome:

The version of Malwarebytes being used is the 2.1.1.

Hmm, that doesn't sound quite right.
The current, latest consumer version of MBAM is 2.0.3.1025. AFAIK, MBAM 2.1 won't be released until early 2015.

Perhaps you are referring to one of the utilities, either mbam-check (diagnostic scanner) or mbam-clean (removal tool)? :unsure:

Let's start here:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

My apologies for the late response.  Was gone for the holiday.

I made a typo, the version I had been using it the 2.0.1.  I will update to the 2.0.3 and see if this resolves the problem.  I request MBAM scans on a regular basis and had been providing the link to the 2.0.1 version in my canned which results in this failure often enough to be troubling.  If the problem persists with the 2.0.3 version I will post back in this topic.

Thank you for the response.

Hi Daledoc1,

I amended my canned for Malwarebytes Antimalware so the the download is for the 2.0.4 version.  I requested one of our members to download and run the 2.0.4 version today, I'm still getting the following:

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Quarantine

Malware Exclusions:
===================
Unable to access exclusion information: Error code 20001Web Exclusions:
================
Unable to access exclusion information: Error code 20001Quarantined Items:
===================
Unable to access quarantine information: Error code 20001===============================================================
END OF FILE

The logs are not from my machine, so I can't do as you suggested in post #2.

In the forum where I'm addressing malware I'm limited in the tools I can use.  Because of this I've come to rely on Malwarebytes quite a bit.

Hi:

Unfortunately, it's impossible for us to troubleshoot "3rd-hand" for a computer about which we have no basic information.

We would need to see some basic diagnostic logs in order to start the process.

I suggest that the users reporting this behavior create a forum account here at this forum and then create a new, separate topic.

Alternatively, such users may wish to log a support ticket at the help desk here for free assistance by email: Contact Consumer Support.

Thanks again,
