something disables, mcafee firewall, windows automatic update, mcafee real time scan and network

Recommended Posts

Last couple of days I have noticed that all of these seem to get disabled

mcafee firewall

windows automatic update

mcafee real time scan

network looses connection

I can reaenable them

I have to rebuild the network connection

I have not installed anyting recently but did have an infected computer that I was working on connected to the network.

After this I noticed that one of the programs from that computer was in my documents folder as a zip file

Vista Buisness 32
malware bytes 2.0.3.102

Mcafee Internet security 12.1

Nothing unusuall in task manager

Ran both in safe mode detects nothing

Ran a complete scan from another partition detects nothing

I have file backups.

But I really don't have the time to re tweak every setting in every program that I have made over the last several years.

Would love anyones help to figure this out.

No there is no personal information in the logs, these logs get posted hundreds of time a day all over the support forums...

It is hard to see what's going on without reviewing log files.

If you prefer you can seek help via email by filling out the form on the main site here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/support/consumer/contact/

Hello and Welcome to Malwarebytes

There are several issues that need to be dealt with on this computer but will require running tools that are not allowed in this section of the forum therefore feel free to follow the instructions below to receive free, one-on-one expert assistance in checking your system and clearing out any infections and correcting any damage done by the malware.

Please see the following pinned topic which has information on how to get help with this: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers

You are also running two antivirus programs at the same time, this is also not recommended. The experts will help you sort that out as well.

One more thing, you are running software from IObit, here is some info on that...

The company behind this product was found to be stealing Malwarebytes database.

Personally I would not trust installing any software from a company that resorts to stealing someone's technology to sell their product.

Please see the following links and make up your own mind if you want to keep this on your system. If needed we can help you remove it.

Thank you

Firefox,

Thank you again for your advice.

I dont understand 2 antivirus prouducts? I am only running mcafee and malwarebytes (I was running ms security essentials at one time but i have unistalled it not sure whey the values are still there)

So I need to post in the virus removal forum.

I havejust bought malware bytes I think it is an excellent tool.

Is this support fee based?

Great, glad to see you have already posted there, now just be patient and wait for one of the experts to pick up your topic. Do not bump or reply to the topic, even to add info as that will only prolong you getting help.
