i keep getting Malicious fake link detected

Just chiming in - I've also been getting this for quite a while (months). No links are even present in the detected SMS messages.


  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4
  • Android 4.4.4
  • Rooted
  • Application Version 1.05.0.9000 (90)

Yep, seems to be when the message contains a G and an A next to each other.

In the Malwarebytes Mobile app, go to Settings and uncheck "Scan links sent via SMS".

 

This should resolve the issue.

Resolving the issue by turning off one of the apps functions seems like a non-fix to me.  That's making the message go away, not you guys finding out why your code latches on to "ga".  That's like saying that to fix an uncomfortable twisted seatbelt you should just stop using it.  The "issue" is fixed, but at the cost of something important.  Perhaps after months, it's time for Malwarebytes to stop asking for hardware/version info (as it's obviously happening across several devices) and just accept that it has a bug that should be fixed, and without having to turn off one of the monitoring functions of a monitoring app.

Still getting malware link alert 'ga'

Last sms so identified was on 07.02.15

the message contains the word 'game'.

The message is from a known person (friend) and is a regular/scheduled one sent to multiple addresses.

V1.05 of Malwarebytes installed. Program reports it is up to date.

Android v4.4.2. Not rooted device.
