Removing edeals

Recommended Posts

Hi

My computer has been infected with edeals and several other malwares and adwares in the past 48 hours.

Instantly went to my Programs and uninstalled few malwared and adwares that were installed. But ads kept popping up and the system was slow.

I use Kaspersky Pure 2.0 and contacted Kaspersky and they said upgrade to 3.0 and it will fix the problem. Did that and it deleted some of the malwares. But still had problem.

Then installed Adwcleaner, scanned and cleaned. Still kept seeing the ads. Also it was showing in the registry and under Firefox and Chrome there are two files that are still infected. After reset and cleaning reset again and scan again still those files were infected. The files were the personal setting files.

I installed Malwarebytes, scanned and cleaned, reset scanned and cleaned again and it found some more malicious software the first time but nothing the second time. I still kept seeing the ads on my browser.

Then installed SuperAnti Spyware, TFC (Temp File Cleanup) and Wise Registry Cleaner and scanned and cleaned some more stuff. Still seeing the ads.

So I reset the settings of all three browsers to original, reset the PC, still was seeing the ads.

Ran AdwCleaner and still finds the setting files of Firefox and Chrome to be infected.

So I uninstalled both of them and deleted their folders in AppData. Ran ADWCleaner and no malware there any more.

Opened IE and still seeing the ads here although everything has been reset.

I just installed FRST, Scanned and attached FRST and Addition file for you.

Your help is much much appreciated.

So I've waited for 72 hours and didn't get any response here. So I continued my own removal process and used few other malware removal tools but none worked unitl I installed Hitman Pro. It found and eliminated the malware and adware that were installed.

I'm writing this here becuase none of the guides on the internet worked. So technically the steps that actually worked were:

Uninstall apps related to Edeals from windows

Download ADWcleaner

Download MalwareByte

Download HitmanPro

Reset all the profile settings on all the browsers (but this is not gonna do anything unless you run the tools afterward. So reset them but close and don't open them again)

Run Adwcleaner, "scan" then "Clean" then reset, "Scan", "Clean" and reset again

Run MalwareByte, Scan, Clean and reset again Scan, Clean and Reset

Then run HotmanPro, Scan, clean and rest

You should be all set. This was my first incident after 5 years. Always Kaspersky has stopped everything but this one was very tricky. I almost spent 7 days to remove it and used a lot of tools which most didn't do anything.

Good luck with the removal process
