Mgmt Console vs. Clients & Best Practices

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am currently running a 30-day trial of MBES and I have a question about one thing mentioned in the Malwarebytes Management Console 1.4 Best Practices Guide.

It says "Malwarebytes manged clients should not be installed on a computer where Malwarebytes Management Console is installed."

Why is this?  I would strongly prefer to be able to manage MBES from my PC, but I would also prefer to have it protected from myself.  :)

Thanks!

The words "Malwarebytes Management Console" are problematic because that is the name of the tool (as a whole) as well as the interface which you utilize to actually use the tool.  Your primary interface is on the server itself, and you should not install a managed client on a server.  If you installed a secondary interface on your PC, you CAN also make the PC a managed client.

Words sometimes make understanding worse...sorry about that.
