All,

Since upgrading to the latest version (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025) I am unable to connect to my companies VPN access point using the cisco Anyconnect VPN client (the Anyconnect client version is 3.1.05182).

I am prompted for my user/pw details and it is when it is establishing the connection post login that it fails with "The VPN client failed to establish a connection" followed by a message "AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again."

If I disable the malwarebytes web protection I can connect immediately without issue.

I have tried putting the domain name of the VPN endpoint in the exclusions, along with the vpnagent.exe and vpnui.exe processes however only fully disabling malwarebytes web protection works.

I can once connected re-enable malwarebytes and I can remain connected without issue.

Is this a known problem, and if so is there any work arounds currently?

many thanks

W60

Just to add to this I have found if I add a domain name to the web exclusions and then perform a nslookup malwarebytes is replacing the IP returned by DNS with a 127.42.0.xxx IP.

Eg if I add www.google.com to the exlusion list and then do an nslookup I get:

> www.google.com.

Server: myrouter.home

Address: 192.168.0.1

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: www.google.com

Addresses: ::127.42.0.8

127.42.0.10

127.42.0.0

127.42.0.1

127.42.0.2

127.42.0.3

127.42.0.9

As soon as I remove it I get the normal:

> www.google.com.

Server: myrouter.home

Address: 192.168.0.1

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: www.google.com

Addresses: 2a00:1450:400b:c01::6a

74.125.138.106

74.125.138.147

74.125.138.103

74.125.138.99

74.125.138.104

74.125.138.105

can anyone else validate they see this?
