Then it sounds as if MBAM was doing its job?

Or are you reporting something else?

A bit more detail would be helpful.

Having said that, there's no need to create duplicate topics for the same issue in different forum sections.

It creates confusion and clutter.

Please stay with your other topic >>HERE<<, until the mod team can merge the threads or lock this duplicate. :)

Thanks for your understanding,

I think he was posting it because it was loading a Garry's mod(sandbox game) banner website (when you load a server in Gmod it loads a website usually with information about the server but sometimes they put some extras in (like music)) website and malwarebytes blocked it - even though it was embed in the game - which proves malwarebytes is one of the best antiviruses.

Hi:

Thanks for your input. :)

Please note, though, that this area of the forum is not the correct place to be posting such a report.
And, as the OP had posted duplicate reports -- aka "cross-posting" -- for the same behavior in different forum sections, I was merely advising him on how best to seek help for that issue.

Also, you wrote:

For anyone who might read this thread, MBAM is not an anti-virus (AV) and is not a substitute for one: Does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware replace antivirus software? :)

Thanks again,

I'm not sure if MBAM uses a network filter driver, or if their software works differently, however it doesn't matter what application requests content from a server that is blocked. TCP/IP traffic is TCP/IP traffic, regardless of whether it originates from your web browser or a game engine, security software isn't really going to see a difference. Even if they were doing something like monitoring DNS requests and blocking the ones to websites that were blacklisted (which some anti-virus software does), it wouldn't matter what kind of program made the request, it would be treated the same.

Precisely, although many antivirus applications use a browser add-on/plugin and only monitor browser activity, while Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does indeed monitor all traffic for connections to or from malicious sites.

At least some of them filter DNS requests rather than using browser extensions, and I think Kaspersky filters all network traffic via a driver or something, but every AV can handle that differently.
