Latest update and now the ICON is locked?

Recommended Posts

I did the latest update to 2.0.3.1025 and accidentally let it create a desktop icon and now I can't delete it, move it or change the permissions in the icon properties so I can. As the only user on this PC it makes no sense that I can be locked out of a simple icon move or removal.

Any ideas?

Otherwise MBAM works fine.

No that did not correct the problem. It still says I need permission from the adminisraitor to change it. When I try to edit the permissions it does not allow it there either

I could not find this thread agai so I started it again. plese delete it as only one thread on this is needed.

Hi, again:

(Mod team -- the duplicate thread is here: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/159710-mbam-icon-issue-2031025/)

If disabling the SP module didn't work, then you may want to please start here -- please be sure you are logged into Windows from an Admin level user account:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
