Malwarebytes Version 2 Problem

Recommended Posts

I installed Version 2 this week and immediately, life became hell.  My antivirus software, Bitdefender, kept reporting program files (x86)\malewarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe was infected with Gen:Variant.Kazy.418613.   I knew something was going on because everything has slowed down on the computer and something seems to be running at a high priority, but I can figure out what it is.  After three days of this, I deinstalled malwarebytes and Anti-Exploit (which never seemed to do anything anyway).  Now a day later BitDefender reports there is a shadow copy with the same virus.   Can anyone tell me what I should do???   Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello LostInTheMiddle and :welcome:

The indications you relate point to possible computer infection and malware removal actions are not permitted in this sub-forum.

I recommend following the advice from the topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and have one of the Malware Removal Experts assist you with your issue.

If, as recommended, you do open a topic in Malware Removal Help, please make reference to this thread.

If you would like to get off to a very fast start, the Malware Removal Experts would appreciate it if you would also Copy and Paste (not attach) both the FRST.txt and the Addition.txt output diagnostic reports from only Log Set 1 into your new topic.

Thank you. :)
