Internet browsers do not work while Malwarebytes is turned on.

Recommended Posts

I recently downloaded Malwarebytes, however when I have it running, I have found that I cannot use either of my browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer). Skype, however, still connects and works without a problem. Whenever I close Malwarebytes, I  don't have any trouble at all connecting with the internet. When I attempt to use a browser, I get a page that says "Server Not Found". Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and :welcome: :

Assuming the computer is not infected, a common scenario is a Killer Network Card e2200.
If it's the latter, please disable the setting for "Enable Bandwidth Control" in Killer Network Manager.
That should fix the problem.

If those suggestions don't apply to your system or don't resolve your issue, it could be the use of certain VPN clients, certain mobile dongles, etc.

Please start here:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Killer Network Manager is part of the software bundle that comes with that particular network card.

Unless you have that network card, you won't have KNM.

If your machine is an older, XP system, then that's unlikely.

So, the best bet would be to proceed with the steps in my earlier reply.

Thanks,
