Removed my add-in

Recommended Posts

I have been running an add-in from Addintools called "Classic Menu for Office 2010" for several years. Have been running Anti-Malware during the same time. Never had any problem before.

Two days ago, Anti-Malware suddenly decided my add-in was a trojan of some kind and quarantined it. Tried to get it to restore the add-in, but no success. I am just a simple user and don't have much understanding of these things.

Does anyone have any idea what happened here and how I can prevent it from happening again? Hate to keep purchasing the add-in just to have it flushed down the drain.  AND, I can't live without the add-in.

Hello and :welcome: :

Can you please do the following:

  • Please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • Please also attach to your next reply the SCAN LOG in question, so that we can see what was detected/removed (instructions are below).

Thanks,

How to get scan logs:
(Export log to save as a txt file for posting in the forum when requested)

  • MBAM may prompt to restart the computer after malware removal in order to complete the process -- allow it to do so.
  • After the restart, once you are back to the desktop, open MBAM.
  • Click on the HISTORY tab > APPLICATION LOGS.
  • Double-click on the SCAN LOG which shows the date and time of the scan just performed (or the one you are asked to post).
  • Click EXPORT.
  • Click TEXT FILE (*.txt)
  • In the "Save File" dialog box which appears, click on DESKTOP.
  • In the FILE NAME box, type a name for your scan log.
  • A message box named "File Saved" should appear, stating that "Your file has been successfully exported".
  • Click OK.
  • Attach the saved log to your next reply.
