MBAM malicious website protection isn't working

Hello destinycreations:

Please progressively follow the steps in this procedure: Malicious Website Protection disabled.

Chameleon is part and parcel of any successful MBAM installation and may usually be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Chameleon on newer 64-bit computers. You most likely do not require the use of Chameleon at this time.

Please advise your results in a reply to this thread.

Thank you.

I've got the same problem.  Just suddenly stopped working.  Tried to "fix it" with no luck. Also went to the settings page and checked the appropriate box -- no joy there either.  tried to run a scan but it fails almost immediately.

Anyone?

MBAM malicious website protection is not working on my computer, after I udated to the newest version of MBAM on 10/13/14.

Why ? How do I resolve this problem ?

Is Chameleon a free download, or do you have to pay for Chameleon  ? Will chameleon help to get MBAM functional again ?

Follow 1PWs instructions on this thread. It worked for me.

What is the we? If you've already fixed it then it does not need to be fixed anymore.

The clean removal is not needed. There are 2 main fixes that will resolve this for you.
Malicious Website Protection disabled

1. Simply download the program installer and install over the top of your current version. (I would still suggest restarting the computer)

2. For those more technically inclined you can delete the rules.ref file and then start MBAM again and check for updates and it should fix it too.

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\rules.ref

It is not a bug in the program. It was a corrupted file on the Content Delivery Network that we do business with.
