Malicious Website Protection Disabled?

Recommended Posts

I just noticed that Malicious Website Protection is disabled since the update was done today - I've changed it by clicking the radio button to Enabled however, it is still showing on the Dashboard as Malicious Website Protection Disabled. Also, the green Fix It button does absolutely nothing. What the heck happened?? Is this being worked on? I'm a lifetime premium member.

I'm attaching an image of the dashboard.

Thank you

Joanne

Manually update your Database, it should download and install v2014.10.14.05.  After that, shutdown Malwarebytes, and start it back up, that should reenable Malicious Website Protection.

Hello

Sorry I disagree.
But I've got exactly the version via update and see my post so not answering the protection Web pages to enable

Yes as you can see in my picture just posted it has an update made exactly on the version and the websites protection is not running after reboot and will not start even manually.

Try it again, only this time don't reboot.  Just exit from MWB, and then restart it, and see what happens.

Hello Ron Lewis,

I have Malwarebytes Premium 2.0.3.1025 and Database version v2014.10.14.09.  Everything is updated and I have checked the ENBLED button, then EXIT, then RESTART. However, the Malicious Website Protection disabled itself AUTOMATICALLY!

I have tried that several times, the same result.

I don't think the link you posted will help this issue as I think it's the updates that are causing the problem.  It has happened in the last two Malwarebytes updates, last time, it was the Malware Protection being disabled by itself, this time, it's the Malicious Website Protection.

Please fix this issue immediately as the protections are one of the main reasons I (I am sure many other users too) use Malwarebytes.

Thank you.

Hello Spam Hunters,

Thank you for your response. As I mentioned, I don't think there's anything wrong with my (or many other users) Malwarebytes. Obviously, something in the latest update(s) causing the problem since suddenly, so many users have experienced the same problem all at once (yesterday and today).

Your link will only, in my opinion, wasting time to uninstall and reinstall.

After several attempts, trying to update over and over, trying to do scans and reported failed. Finally, the Malcious Website Protection magically worked again. I don't know why and what did happen. But just glad it worked.

As I mentioned in my previous post, there have been issues like this kind during the last two updates.

Let me warn some of you that if you DELETE your Malwarebites program, you are left with only one alternative:  to download the "free" version of the software.  Otherwise, you end up purchasing the program a second time.  I couldn't find any option that allowed me to REinstall.  Please provide a solution if you know of one.  In the meantime, I will have to contact SUPPORT and ask them for a workable solution as to a second purchase.  Let me also say that before I ran into this particular problem, I noticed that I was being prompted to update the program on numerous occasions.  I didn't do so.  I had a sneaky suspicion this wasn't on the up-and-up.  If I'm not mistaken, isn't there an option to select for the Malwarebytes program to update "automatically?"  Maybe that's what caused me to hesitate all the updates I kept receiving.

It would be great if MBAM just released a database update that would allow users to get this issue fixed.  What an incredible waste of time for thousands of users to go through these forums and find the fix.

BTW, MBAM has been a lifesaver for me. But I honestly don't care for the "new and improved" version and its UI.
