Changed computer, but did not complete unintstall process on old computer

Recommended Posts

I was able to retrieve my ID and Key, but am unsure how to activate it with new computer.

Is the uninstall process on the old computer necessary to continue using Malwarebytes?

If so how do I activate it with key and id Number? The only thing I see now is an option to buy new Malware bytes program. I don't see an option to use the ID and Key to continue using already purchased Malware bytes used on old computer..

Thanks for any help..

Hello and :welcome:

If you would have read my above post you would have read that I got rid of my old computer.

Can I even access My Account  from the main website?

Once again, I paid for full Malwarebytes protection which I had on another computer.

I got rid of the other computer and unfortunately did not uninstall Malwarebytes on the old computer. I am asking if there is another way to use Malwarebytes on my new computer. I do have my Id # and Key.

Thanks.

Hi:

Here's the link to download the current public release of the consumer version of the program: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

Here is the link for install instructions: How do I install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?

Once you install it, you will use the ID and key to "Activate", as explained here: How do I activate Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?

If that doesn't work, then you might want to start fresh, with a clean reinstall, as explained here: MBAM 2.x Clean Removal Process

If your license is a 1-PC consumer, lifetime license, then -- as long as you have it activated on ONLY 1 PC at a time -- you should be fine.

Please let us know if this resolves your issue.

Thanks,

You did not say you didn't have the old computer anymore in your post.

If you no longer have the computer then there isn't anything you can do about it now. Hopefully wherever the old computer is they don't have your activation information as it can become black listed and then it will require documentation from your sale in order to get a new activation generated. For now just activate your current one and it should be okay. If trouble does arise with it in the future please contact the help desk and they can assist you further.

Thank you... robot Ron the non human.
