I too am now experiencing malicious website protection turning off

Recommended Posts

My system and several of my clients have recently started experiencing a problem with the malicious website protection turning off on it's own. I didn't want to jump in the other discussion but based on the number or views it has...it appears to me that many are experiencing the same issue and looking for a solution. Anyone having the same issue just chime in and respond by letting me know you are having the same issue and when it started.  Thanks.

I have  already seen this problem occur on at least 15 clients of mine since last Wednesday. Because they are my clients I do know their systems, their software, the antivirus programs they are using, their version of malwarebytes, the operating system and etc. Because of this I am beyound working under the assumption the problem is unique to my system.

I essentially saw the number of views on the other discussion about this issue at over 300 in just a few days and when someone else jumped in and said they were also having the problem...and was told to start their own discussion...I decided to just that to see if I could get an idea as to how many others are experiencing the same problem and when it started.

If people respond they are having the same issue and it started within the last week...personally I think that would be significant.

Now as far as it happening on my system, I seemed to have corrected it. I will now attempt to replicate it across my affected clients.

Thank you for your concern and Firefox's prompt response.

I have many of my own systems as well as other work systems and friends and family systems all running MBAM and not a single one of them have their file protection disabled. If you have 15 clients and they're all disabled then it's very likely all your clients are running something in common that you install that is somehow conflicting with MBAM.

Yes there are certainly a lot of users where the protection module becomes inactive and the reasons are varied. In most cases antivirus blocking or broken services are the culprit. In your case though I'd doubt that 15 different computers all got the same broken service or infection. Again just a guess on my part but if all of them are using the same antivirus then you may need to double check on exclusions. Doing a clean removal and reinstall also often fixes minor issues like this.

We're certainly more than happy to work with you on trying to determine what's going on and see if we can get to the bottom of it. If you're unable to resolve it then let us know and try to get the requested logs from one of the affected systems.

  1. Please uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest version. MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  2. If that does not correct the issue then please read the following and post back the requested logs. - Diagnostic Logs
  3. NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here: - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Thank You
