I recently became a premium member with 2 licenses, please let me know if you meed my ID or Reg Keys.

Today I noticed that Malware bytes was not active in my app bar. When I tried to run it manually it just quits, no errors just doesn't start.  I have tried starting it in safe mode but that doesn't work either.  Actually at first my computer wouldn't go into safe mode and then wouldn't boot at all. I eventually had to pull the battery from the motherboard and power it down to get it to safe mode.  I have run Chameleon but that didn't work.  I have run Rkill and FRST I am attaching the logs.

Please Help

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:

  • Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
  • Please be patient. I know it is frustrating when your PC isn't working properly, but malware removal takes time.
  • Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
  • Do not paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work easier. There is a Upload Files option below which you can use to attach your reports. Always attach reports from all tools.
  • Stay with me to the end, the absence of symptoms doesn't mean that your machine is fully operational.
  • Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

:excl: I can't foresee everything, so if anything unexpected happens, please stop and inform me!
:excl: There are no silly questions. Never be afraid to ask if in doubt!

Please note that prior to contacting you I had done some initial troubleshooting on the PC which included renaming mbam as well as trying to run it on Safe mode.  At one point the computer would not allow be to boot to safe mode and then wouldn't boot up at all.  I had to unplug the computer and pull the motherboard battery to finally get me back to safe mode.

Additionally I disconnected all external  and internal HARD drive with the exception of the drive with the OS.  When I ran the Malware Byte scan I had forgotten that I had one of my 2 internal Hard drives still disconnected. So I rebooted and reconnected the 2nd HD and reran the scan.  This is why you are getting 2 Application scan logs

The PC seems a little sluggish, but that could just be me being paranoid.  Malware opens fine now and autostarts in my taskbar as before.  Any idea what could have happened?  Was it a virus or just something I installed that monkeyed up the works?  Honestly had I not noticed that Malewarebytes wasn't in my task bar and a game I installed wasn't starting properly I would never have known I had an issue.  I use the standard user account and never my admin account. I have Malewarebytes premium and Avast.  I would love to know what it was so I could prevent this from happening again in the future.  BTW I sent you a beer.

Thanks

I don't know why it happened, probably some software caused this. I would like to perform one more scan:

Here are the reports and the quarantine reports as well.  I ran the program several times and each time it keeps finding the same files?  Not sure it is cleaning them since after clean there is a reboot and adw cleaner does not auto restart.

The Importance of Software Updating:

In order to stay protected it is very important that you regularly update all of your software. Cybercriminals depend on the apathy of users around software updates to keep their malicious endeavor running.

Operating systems, such as Windows, and applications, such as Adobe Reader or JAVA, are used by tens of millions of computers and devices around the world, making them a huge target for cybercriminals. Downloading updates and installing them can sometimes be tedious, but the advantages you get from the updates are certainly worth it.

Recommended additional software:

icon_arrow.gifTFC - to clean unneeded temporary files.
icon_arrow.gifMalwarebytes' Anti-Malware - to scan your system from time to time in search for malware.
icon_arrow.gifMalwarebytes' Anti-Exploit - to prevent plenty of mostly exploited vulnerabilities.
icon_arrow.gifMcShield - to prevent infections spread by removable media.

Post-cleanup procedures:

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

  • Run the tool by right click on the 51a5ce45263de-delfix.png icon and Run as administrator option.
  • Make sure that these ones are checked:
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Purge system restore
    • Reset system settings
  • Push Run.
  • The program will run for a few seconds and display a notepad report. You do not need to attach it.

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
