Dashboard Appears, then MBAM stops working

Recommended Posts

I have a brand new computer.  I had MB on another computer which I'm retiring with a license, and wanted to load it on my new computer.  I downloaded the latest free version (several times), and all I get is a generic message that the software has stopped working with no error codes or explanations.  I was going to upgrade with my license.

Attached are all the logs I got.

Please help, I don't want to have to find another program - I've depended on MB for several years.

Thanks,

Carl

Hi:

Preliminary review of your logs shows evidence of infection (Spigot, etc).
It looks as if you've also run some "registry cleaners", such as Iolo System Mechanic.
(This program, in particular, used to cause issues with the older version of MBAM 1.x. I'm not sure if that's still the case with MBAM 2.x, but, in general such cleaners/optimizers/tweakers are not recommended -- they can cause system damage: Do I need a Windows Registry Cleaner?)

In any event, it looks as if this computer needs a deeper look with tools that aren't permitted in this section of the forum.
So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the preliminary steps to take to expedite the process.

As you have already run FRST, you just need to start a new topic in the malware removal area -- with the same logs.
A malware analyst will guide you through the cleanup process and will help you get MBAM up and running.

Thanks,
