Database cannot be updated

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I purchased the Premium version of MWB in July. After some slight initial problems with installation on one of our 3 machines, one of which is a laptop used only occasionally,MWB has functioned since purchase on our networked machines without any problems.  However, 3-4 days ago database updating  on one of our machines - a Dell Inspiron, with Win 7, 64-bit, Intel (Core 13) has repeatedly failed.   An orange warning triangle shows with  'Unable to access update server', also a red cross with 'real time protection - no protection'.  Both of the machines have MS Security Essentials installed; both machines have been set up by an IT professional to ensure that there is no conflict between SE and MWB.

This evening I read of a similar problem reported on the forum, and have checked the machine in question to ensure that there is nothing obvious, such as quarantines files, etc., which might prevent

the database update from completing correctly.

Please could you advise?

Hello Geoffpowers1 and :welcome:

On the Dell Inspiron, let's start here:

  • Please try the following and let us know if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  • The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are: CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located in Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions.
Please let us know the status of your issue in a reply to this thread.

Thank You. :)

Hello and :welcome: , @cnjl3:

I have the three requested logs ready to submit but the "Diagnostic Logs" thread has been locked.

The "Diagnostic Logs" post is called a pinned, "sticky" topic. It contains instructions & information.  It is not intended for forum members to reply there. :)
Please start a NEW, SEPARATE topic using this clickable cjfj.png button.
The staff and experts will be able to more easily provide both you and the OP here with individual help to get you both up and running.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,
