How safe is Windows XP even with MBAW Preimum?

I've read that Microsoft ended support for Windows XP several months ago and that it is not safe to use any more since no new security patches or updates are provided. I have MBAW Premium installed and I get updates regularly, but I wonder if I should still be using this PC. It is too old and slow to run Windows 7 or 8.
