Malwarebytes downloads are infected

Today I did a new install of Windows 7 Home and after installing Avg anti- virus, I tried to download the latest verison of Malwarebytes  from Filehippo and Avg blocked me because of (Open Candy) pup. I eventually downloaded it from Bleeping computers without the flag and installed it. I then scanned my computer with Avg and it found (Open Candy) pup and removed it. It seems that the pup is attached to the Malwarebytes downloads. What's up?

Sorry about your experience, however the Malwarebytes downloaded file does not contain any malware on them.  The official download link is HERE. 

 

A lot of sites that hosts the download file, are riddled with Fake download buttons and perhaps you may have clicked on one of those links.
