Need administrator rights to change program shortcut name and/or to move icon

Recommended Posts

I'm a registered purchaser of Malwarebytes operating on a Windows PC with Windows 8.1 (64 bit). I've used Malwarebytes for a long time and am quite satisfied with it. However, the newest version of Malwarebytes that I downloaded today (09/10/14) crashes and/or freezes frequently. It will also not let me rename the Malwarebytes shortcut icon or move it. When I try to do those things, I get a message stating that I need adminsitrator privileges to do these tasks. I'm an administrator on my machine so the message is perplexing. After Malwarebytes repeatedly crashed, I ran three other online AV programs and an anti-rootkit program to verify that I do not have any malware or viruses on my computer as all their scans were negative.

Any assistance with moving the Malwarebytes icon and/or renaming it would be appreciated. Also, any assistance would be appreciated with why the program crashes and/or freezes (it worked flawlessly with Windows 7 - 64 bit) with Windows 8.1 (64 bit).
