First of all: English is not my mother tongue, so please excuse me if I make a mistake and ask me if I made something unclear.

The problem:

I haven't used MBAM since a while and had to update my version 1.75 build to the new 2.x version. Since I updated the client it keeps crashing ("MBAM is not working anymore. Close the program | Wait for answer"), regardless of whether I want to update the database or try to perform a scan although I can click on all other options without crashing the application.

Furthermore I already tried to deinstall MBAM with mbam-clean.exe, restarted my computer and repeated the procedure another time just like it was advised here somethere in the forum. Besides that It tried to run MBAM as an administrator, in compatibility mode (I am using Windows 7 x64 - latest updates) and currently I tried the old 1.75 build again, updated its database and denied the update to 2.x. A full system scan is now running and I can only hope that something is found which keeps crashing only MBAM 2.x on my computer.

Can I provide any more information or data if the scan won't find anything related to my problem? Or is there any other solution?

Best regards,

Selas

Hello and :welcome: :

Your English is just fine. :)

I understand that you are having problems with MBAM after updating to version 2.

I also understand that you have tried reinstalling and reverting to version 1.75.

All of those reinstalls and rollbacks may have messed up something.

In order to better help you, I would suggest following the steps below one more time, to provide us with a known, "clean" starting point.

We may need more data later, but this will be a good place to begin:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
