It does nothing

Recommended Posts

Once again Malwarebytes is doing nothing. Only this time it is doing nothing on both a windows 8.1 64 bit system and a windows 7 64 bit laptop.  Is requiring periodic uninstalls and re-installs to keep the program running an intended function of the software? This is like the 8th time this has happened on the windows 8 system but the first on windows 7.

Well I worked with you on the Windows 8.1 issue and we got it working except for the Bitlocker issue and then you stopped replying. What has changed on the Windows 8 system and when did our program stop working?

We should only work on one computer at a time. Which one did you want to work on?  Please get me some new logs files so that I can see if I can find out what's going on here.

Please read the following and post back the 3 requested logs.

Thank you

It won't update because it crashed for some reason, but so did many other programs as well. Unfortunately there is not enough information to be able to determine why MBAM or these other programs crashed.

In theory you can probably just restart the computer and see if that corrects it or not, if it does not correct it simply try a reinstall of MBAM (don't need to do the mbam clean) and see if that corrects it and let me know.

Check your HISTORY > QUARANTINE screen.  Do you have quarantined files that are waiting to be restored or deleted?

There were none that showed when I reinstalled. The day the problem started the program would do absolutely nothing including allowing me to see any logs.

Yes but did you restart the computer ?

Did that correct anything?

Did you do a reinstall over the top and did that fix it?

I see you have a ticket open on the help desk. We can either close that one or this one but we working in both locations is only going to confuse the issue more. Let me know what you'd like to do.

Thank you

Of course I restarted the computer. Most of the time when mbam is not updating that solves the problem but it did not that time. The reinstall today ran a clean scan. I would like to figure out why I continue to have the same issue about once a month. I have spent more time trouble shooting and running scans to generate logs on this one piece of software than seems appropriate.

There is a rare issue where it does repeat this problem for some users. It has been corrected but won't be available until the next release. I know it's not much consolation if you're one of the ones being affected by this, but all I can really offer is to please wait for the next release. If you're using a new subscription and not the lifetime license and are not happy waiting then you can submit for a product refund via the help desk.

Please let me know what you'd like to do at this point.

Thank you

Any info on when the next release will be coming out? My subscribtion started in May. This was a new computer and I spent a very long time saving for it. It is my dream computer and a major, major upgrade from the one it replaced and I picked it out so it will be upgradeable for some time to come.
