Grune Posted August 19, 2014 ID:868502 Share Posted August 19, 2014 The last few days my internet was acting up so I ran Malwarebytes this morning and it detected 3 items: PUP.Optional.Spigot - in my AppData (roaming)PUP.Optional.Spigot - HKEYPUP.Optional.Spigot.A - Chrome Preferences I put them in quarantine and restarted my computer.Ran Malwarebytes again and thought the first two are gone, the PUP.Optional.Spigot.A in Chrome is still there. If you have illegal/cracked software (MS Office, Adobe Products), cracks, keygens, custom (Adobe) host file, etc. on the system, please remove or uninstall them now and read the policy on Piracy. Please Update and run a Quick Scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, post the report. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. FRST <----for 32 bit systems FRST64 <----for 64 bit systemsDouble-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.Press Scan button. (make sure the Addition box is checked)It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Is there a way to remove it?Or to stop Chrome from sync-ing?Will I just have to keep clearing Chrome? Would it resolve it I just uninstalled Chrome?I'm not really sure what to do. I've uninstalled every extension with the exception of Adblock Plus and Stylish (both whose IDs do not match the one listed). Closed out of Chrome. Re-scanned with MB.It was a clean scan - nothing found. Waited an hour.Re-synced Chrome Settings. Ran MB one more time.It was also clean. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

My browsers don't seem to lag anymore.I checked Chrome to see if the yahoo spigot showed up in search engine preferences (like it did when MB noted a PUP), and it was not there after syncing.
