Extensive scan time

Recommended Posts

Last night I decided to run a scan as to eliminate one of the possibilities for a game I play running slowly. I was about to shut down when I realized the scan from the previous night is still running. I enabled for the scan to scan everything (there was some box that I ticked for an option to scan for). I'm not sure what exactly I should do, its been at the same number of objects scanned for at least 20 minutes, but I'm too afraid to stop it, any ideas as what procedures I should follow?

Hello tesseract442 and :welcome:

First let's try this:

  • Open the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM2) Graphical User Interface (GUI).
  • Single left-click Settings.
  • Single left-click Detection and Protection.
  • Under Detection Options:
    • Uncheck/untick Scan for rootkits.
    • uncheck/untick Scan within archives.
Please remember to dispose of the malware found in the previous scan.

Then, try your previous scan and let us know how it went in a reply to this thread.

Thank you.
