Help, Your system is not fully protected and Unable to connect to download server

I have the premium 2nd version of malwarebytes, but I don't know which update it is on, as the application will not show it. I am unable to connect to the download server to update the database and the application is telling me, my system is not fully protected. I turned on the Malware protection and Malware website protection, but when I restart my computer the setting turn off. I am in need of help.
