Netgear Genie & Trojan.Crypt.ED - Program Terminated

New to the forum.  I have just been bombarded with threat warnings by Malwarebytes (v2.0.2.102) regarding Trojan.Crypt.ED, all associated with Netgear Genie  (I have a DG2200v3).  The detected files have been quarantined.  Now I notice that the program Netgear Genie is no longer running and will not restart.

In the 'False Positives' sub-forum there are threads about this file - can someone please confirm that there actually is no threat.  If this is the case, do I just 'un-quarantine' the files in order to reactivate the Genie program?

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response :)   Have now restored the files, rebooted and Genie is running again.

This was a false positive indeed and has been fixed already, so please update.

Just for information, Malwarebytes was actually running the most up-to-date version (v2014.08.14.04) when the warnings occurred.

"Me too" type reply posts and confirmations are not needed and are actually not allowed as a reply post in the False Positive sub-forums.

Please reference: Please read before reporting a false positive
