Secunia PSI

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I use Secunia PSI software to check that all the programs on my computer are up-to-date https://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/, MBAE is included on their list and it checks for updates okay.  MBAM is not on their list, so I requested it be added by forwarding the link to your download, I got the following reply:

"Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion.

It appears that the vendor has not updated their file information for the suggested software.

Since our scanners rely on the file information to detect the program, we can't detect the program unless the vendor adds the correct file information.

You can of course contact the vendor and ask them to update their file information in their next release, otherwise we cannot create a detection rule for this release since no file from the software seems to contain the correct version information."

Is there anything you could do in a future release that would allow Secunia to detect MBAM.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards.

Hello MCFatTongue and welcome back:

Secunia is probably making a file details comparison between the installed mbae.exe and the installed mbam.exe files where the Malwarebytes developers created the last MBAM1 file versioning standard years ago. The current mbam.exe file/product version is 1.0.0.532

I suppose we'll need to see if the developers are willing to make that in-house standards change in future versions of MBAM2 though.

Thank you for the heads-up.

Hi, MCFatTongue:

Thanks for the idea. :)

We'll need to wait for an official response from the product development team, of course.

As this is the support area for reporting problems with using the program, the staff have asked that product comments & suggestions be posted in a dedicated area of the forum.

So, for prompt attention by the development team, you might wish to post future suggestions here: Comments and Suggestions

<just a suggestion>

Cheers,
