MBAM 2.0 Command Line Interface

Recommended Posts

I have read in various locations that the Command Line Interface has not been restored with version 2.0 YET. However, I was hoping for an official response as to when this is planned to be reintegrated. This feature is an absolute must have.

Our business retails MBAM and as a courtesy to our customers we (used to) install custom scripts that run periodic updates and scans for them.

That is what the PAID program already does....

We utilize custom scripts to assist our customers both remotely as well as ensuring that updates and scans are run in a specific fashion. We are unable to do so in a viable fashion without the CLI. Neither the Free nor Paid versions of MBAM 2.0 have a viable CLI.

Also just to add, version 2.0 is not available for business computers as of yet... the only version of 2.x available at the moment if for consumers. Business Support is HERE

We are not utilizing this for business clients, we are a residential services provider.

@AdamR

The use of the free version modified to run by script by a business is against the EULA. Please let us know what features a paid Retail installation of the program that has full automation support is not doing that you feel your script adds value to the customer. Perhaps there is a need for an enhancement to cover that.

Yes the command line feature will return in a future build, but without more detail it appears you "may" be using the software in an unsupported fashion that may violate the terms of use. More details would be needed to really determine that and see if we can help you appropriately.

Thank  you

We are not utilizing the Free Version. We are an authorized retailer of MBAM and retail it to our Residential customers we serve. For increased protection we had previously developed scripts to ensure updates and scans are being ran silently as an included service to our customers. Where there are automation features in the retail version, they require manual configuration, where previously we merely ran our script on each new MBAM PC and our specific settings were applied. It is extremely inefficient to manually configure MBAM for our clients, hence my request for when CLI will be returned to 2.0 so we may update our script.

No problem. Understood and I agree that a quick batch install and configure is quick and a repeatable install. I cannot promise it will return in the next version but I'm hopeful that it will.

Thank you again

That would be wonderful! Based on our own metrics we have noticed decreased customer return with our increased frequency of updates/scans, where this isn't beneficial for our bottom line, it has increased customer satisfaction and we are extremely anxious for it to return.
