Trojan unremoveable, by me that is

Recommended Posts

I ran this highjack thingy on my other pc. I have already done it a few times and deleted the spurious go.microsoft.com etc entries in IE but it keeps coming back again with a different number at the end. I also found something in the host but don't know how to deal with this. This is on a Vaio laptop which I am unable to connect to the Internet and runs Vista and IE 7. I tried running HJT as an administrator but it didn't do anything! Please can someone help?

PS I have tried restoring from back up but this was ineffective.

Hi,

I have already done it a few times and deleted the spurious go.microsoft.com etc entries in IE but it keeps coming back again with a different number at the end.
Nothing wrong with that. It's just the default MS site. This is so configured by default.

It's most probably your McAfee or Windows defender which is blocking the changes when you want to set another startpage.
