Scorpionsaver (adpeak) not removing completely.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently re-installed World of Warcraft on my PC and when trying to play, it would come up with an error code.  I worked through all the steps with Blizzard's CS until they determined from some logs that the port the game uses was being blocked by adpeak, which was found in the msinfo file I sent them.  They couldn't help me any further and explained that it was very difficult to remove.  I have read of others having it removed after various steps here, so hopefully someone can assist me as well.

It installed in December of last year according to Window 7 uninstall option.  It was initially unable to delete, but I noticed that after I deleted the folders in both program files directories, they were removed.  I had run Malwarebytes a few times and installed MS Security Essentials, but that program won't perform the update option, I am assuming being blocked somehow by this malware.  I also downloaded and tried adwcleaner and it had a similar issue and eventually came up with an error message saying it was no longer running and prompted me to close the application.

While everything else appears to be working, even other Blizzard games, World of Warcraft continues to give the same error and when running msinfo, I still find remnants of adpeak when I search the file.

Regards,

Brad

I've attached the fixlog.  Although I mentioned it in my first post, I had already deleted the Scorpionsaver folders within the Program Files directories, I assume that eliminated them from the Uninstall listing.  I also downloaded AdwCleaner again and when using the clean option, the program stops responding and Windows asks to close it.  Until I hear back from you, I won't move ahead to the junkwear removal which you listed to perform next. I really appreciate your time.

Brad
