Feature/Tweak Request - Change "Please restart your computer" message to prevent accidental restarts

Recommended Posts

When going through the malware scan/removal process, one step asks you to restart your computer. This message mob starts with the "restart" button highlighted, and if you press enter or space on your keyboard this will be selected, potentially restarting your computer by accident.

I just did this by accident while typing in notepad, with Malwarebytes scanning as well. Half way though a sentence, Malwarebytes finished removing malware and asked to restart my computer, and spawned a message box asking to restart my computer. Because I was mid-sentence, I pressed enter on my keyboard, causing an unintended restart. This could cause accidental data loss, especially to user who have not used Malwarebytes before or power-users who like to do multiple things at once (like myself).

There are a few suggestions I can think of which would solve this issue. The first one would be disabling keyboard input on the message box, although this could prevent users without a mouse from using the software. You could also change the default selected option to "Not now," although this also is not ideal as restarting after a malware scan is critical for thoroughly removing malware. The suggestion I would make is to lock keyboard input for a few seconds after the message box appears and make a sound if the user types on the keyboard in that first few seconds, so that the user can read the message box before making a (possibly accidental) decision.

I apologize if this is the incorrect thread for such a request, I did not see a feature request or another more appropriate thread on the forums page. Also, I did not read the "would you like to restart your computer" message since I didn't have the chance, so I do not know the exact contents of the message. And I do realize multitasking with a scan running is not advised, but since I have not had any major infections on this machine I did not take that request too heavily.
