Hello Christina and welcome aboard.

 

What is the version of Windows on your system?  Is Windows' User Account Control on or off?   If your Windows is Vista, Win7 or Win8 they must have User Account Control ON.    ( disregard if XP ).

Turn on User Account Control. See this MS article

For Windows 7
Go to Control Panel>> All Control Panel Items >>User Accounts
Click on Change User account control settings
