Help with terminology

Hi,

 

I'm new here. I'm trying to find a stable and reliable solution to malware. I am coming to the conclusion that I don't even understand the lingo. I see that on this forum there are separate sections entitled:

• Malware Removal Support
• Anti-Malware Support
• Endpoint Security Support
• Anti-Exploit Support
• and various others...

What's the difference between Malware Removal and Anti-Malware? Why do they need a separate section?

 

For example, I have a question about scheduling the automated scans. Do I post that in the Anti-Malware Support section?

 

Is there a glossary that defines the terms for newbies?

Short answer: Yes, if you need help with scheduling automated scans for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM), you would start a new topic in the MBAM support section: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help
 
Longer answer:
"Malwarebytes" is the company name.
There are many different software products from the company -- some are for consumers, some are for "Enterprise" (large businesses), some are for use on mobile devices, etc..
That creates a bit of alphabet soup.
Each section of the forum is reserved for posting about a particular product (e.g. MBAM or MBAE or MBAR or MBSB or MBAM-Mobile, etc.), or for a specific purpose.
In the latter case, there is a "special" area of the forum reserved ONLY for folks who need one-on-one, expert help removing malware from their computers: Malware Removal Help

If you look at the blurbs for each section on the forum main page, there is a bit of a description for each section, in terms of what it covers.
