Where is Malwarebytes for x64 Windows 7?

Recommended Posts

I tried to update my Malwarebytes to v 2.0.2.1012. When I tried to install v 2, I received this message:

This version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

My computer is an Windows 7  x64 computer, The previous version installed on this computer is 1.75.0.1300.

Can you help me?

Hello and :welcome: :

The installer (setup file) is the same for both x86 and x64 platforms.

Let's start with this:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Also, the mod team will likely move this post to the MBAM support section >>here<<. No worries, though. :)

UPDATE:

Upon re-reading your post, I noticed a very peculiar typo (see attached).

"Malwarebytes" is misspelled as "Maywarebytes".

Moreover, the correct name of the setup file is: "mbam-setup-consumer-2.0.2.1012.exe".

So, the setup file has the wrong file name to begin with, regardless of the typo.

Did you rename the setup file?

If not, then can you please provide the URL to the site from which you downloaded the file?

Thanks!
