New 2014 malwarebytes 2.0

Recommended Posts

My malwarebytes has updated to version 2.0.  Real time protection and website protection are slowing my computer  and make web browsing like old dial up.  Where can I get a copy of the previous version so I can restore it. This new version is useless.  I have run multiple virus scans. My computer is clean. malwarebytes is the problem. Once I turn protection off my computer returns to normal.  I have a paid licence. I don't want to waste time resolving this issue. I just want to reinstall the version that worked.  Can someone provide a link to a download of the previous version?

Hello Diagnosticated and :welcome:

We would be remiss if we didn't point out that making, or updating, mutual exclusions with your Anti-Virus application would likely correct the slowness, due to conflicts, you experience. We also need to point out that v2.0.2.1012 has much greater capabilities when compared to v1.75.0.1300 and that the precise date and time are unknown when v1.75.0.1300 will no longer be supported.

For Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.x, please exclude the following files from your Anti-Virus software (we are unsure what version of you are using):

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you will need to exclude them from it as well.

For 32-bit (x86) versions of Windows XP, and above:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe

For 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and above:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you will need to exclude mbam.exe and mbamservice.exe from it as well.
Note: Once that is done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

If these above steps are still unacceptable to you, the only official download server link for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware mbam-setup-1.75.0.1300.exe is through malwarebytes.app.box.com.

Thank you. :)

You can also try the following if that does not work.

  1. Please uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest version. MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  2. If that does not correct the issue then please read the following and post back the requested logs. - Diagnostic Logs
  3. NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here: - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Thank You

Thanks for replies Guys.  I found a copy of mbam 1.75 on the net. I ran the mbam clean removal x2 which deleted by registration (eek!) and installed mbam 1.75.  Computer instantly returned to normal behaviour BUT Mbam downloaded and installed updates (I didn't update program to mbam 2.0) and web browsing became jerky/slow again just like with mbam 2.0.  If I turn mbam protection (file and web) off, everything is ok.  I will try the exclusions suggestions and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

I have reinstalled mbam 2.0 and added the exclusions to my antivirus (avast free).  Google chrome browsing jerky and poor response. Switch off mbam protection and everything ok.  I have now set mbam to not start with windows and have real time + web browsing switched off.  Browser and computer work better this way.

Hi:

Until 1PW and AdvancedSetup return....

I have now set mbam to not start with windows and have real time + web browsing switched off.

Well, that doesn't make much sense.
Real-time protection is the key component to PREVENT infection.
Turning those off basically reverts MBAM Premium to MBAM Free, a manual, on-demand scanner that can only clean, not protect, your system.

Why not follow AdvancedSetup's expert advice?

The logs may show why you're having this problem, so that a solution can be provided?

Just a suggestion, as it's up to you, of course. :)
