malwarebytes crashes on update

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes free is crashing whenever it tries to update.  Scan works OK, just cannot update.  I did a clean uninstall using the clean tool as suggested and installed the latest build 2.0.2.102.  It even crashes during update in 'safe mode with networking'.  I ran the scan (without updating) and it found problems, corrected them.  I also ran AVG, it found problems and corrected them.  But still can't run MWB update.

Windows 7, 32 bit, 4 gigabyte RAM,

I am an administrator, however when I try to run mbam-check.exe in a cmd window, it says 'access denied'.  It says that even if I open the cmd window 'run as administrator'.  So I did not attach the mbam-check log.

I posted the farbar files here.

Hi:

Your logs show evidence of at least PUPs.
It would be a good idea to get cleaned up first, as that might resolve your issues with MBAM updates.

We can't work on malware diagnostics and removal in this sub-section of the forum.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.

>>As you have already run FRST, you just need to start a new topic in the malware removal section (including both of these same logs).
A malware analyst will guide you through the cleanup process.

Please be patient, as the forum is quite busy. A helper will assist you as soon as possible.

Thanks,
