Another computer infected - hopefully this'll get a response

Recommended Posts

Using a Win7 machine with a registered version of MalwareBytes active!

Was given a warning that the MB data file was out of date (that should have been a BIG red flag to me)

I clicked on update.

The computer then went Blue Screen

Upon restart asked if I wanted to go Safe Mode (started Normal, second mistake)

MBAM will now not start.

PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS REQUEST!

Assuming the above mentioned computer was infected I ran all kinds of scanners just because MB would not run.

Happened across another forum topic (sorry didn't copy the number) that suggested removing MB then reinstalling.

I tried that and MB is now running!

I am guessing "a bit got dropped" during the update last night causing MB to not run.

All is good now. Thanks for leaving topics searchable so I could solve this problem myself.
