Malwarebytes Automated Scheduling Question

Recommended Posts

The question I have is this;  Should the automated scheduler remember my selections after shutdown?  Let me explain...

Every time I boot up the system I always have to go into Malwarebtyes, go into the automated scheduler tab, and place a check in the boxes next to the options I want Malwarebytes to follow (e.g. check for updates hourly).  I just want to know if this is normal?  I don't think its malware or anything since Bitdefender and Malwarebytes run fine.  I did go through a recent bout of Adware on the machine but the expert here on the forums gave me a clean bill of health.  I'd hate to think Malware is on here but I guess it could be possible.

Thanks for any and all help.

Isn't he saying he has to set the schedules every time he opens MWB?

Nope.

He is saying:

Every time I boot up the system I always have to go into Malwarebtyes, go into the automated scheduler tab, and place a check in the boxes next to the options I want Malwarebytes to follow (e.g. check for updates hourly).

As Firefox explained, the "Select" column is only there if the user wants to REMOVE a task.

That column does NOT stay "selected". And it has nothing to do with the task running. It is only there to enable task removal (see screen shot).

As long as the tasks are listed in the scheduler window (and they are properly configured), they will run.

Having said that, hourly update checks will be randomized +/- 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

Moreover, although there are 10-12 (sometimes more) database updates every day, there will not be a new update available every hour of every day.

IOW, sometimes the program will check for update, but there won't be one available.

Re: scheduled scans. With version 2, a scheduled scan that is "clean" will be silent.  Only if there are items detected will the user be notified.

One can open the main program dashboard > History > Application Logs to verify that the scans are running as scheduled.

Hope this helps.
