Ongoing problems with Malwarebytes program

Recommended Posts

All right, this is driving me up a wall and I really need help because I need this laptop functional to work on my tiny art business.

A few days ago, Malwarebytes gave me an alert saying that the database was corrupted or missing.  I told it to update itself and it did.  It seemed to work fine for a couple days.

Then the program crashed completely and I had to restart my computer to bring it back up.  When I did, it was behaving fine.

As of last night it started randomly disabling the malicious website protection.  I would go in and enable it again and it would be fine for a while before disabling again.  This morning, it now refuses to enable at all.  I click to fix it and nothing changes.  Went into the settings themselves and clicked to enable it, but the dashboard still shows that malicious website protection is disabled even though the setting itself is staying on enabled.

What the devil is going on?  I'm running a virus scan separate from MWB right now but I can't imagine there'll be anything there; I almost never have anything detected on MWB and I don't think Security Essentials has ever found a virus.  Is this some kind of broken software issue?  Because I am seeing several other very recent threads in this forum about MWB acting doofy in similar ways.  Help would be appreciated, the quicker the better since if there IS a problem with my system I need to resolve this before I go about making any more transactions for my business.

This is one of my customers. She called me today since I am her Vendor for Malwarebytes and she could not find her key. Got it taken care of (I put stickers under the battery on laptops with the key) . I took a look and computer was almost pristine so as a precaution did the clean install and we will monitor the issue.

You can close this post since it is under control.
