Version 2.0 wont scan or open

Hi. I've seen this topic, but I don't understand the instructions given to fix the issue.
 

I upgraded to 2.0 two months ago and have been having issues with constant pop ups to update and this morning when I attempted to scan a file, MB wouldn't open. It was fine yesterday, I'm sure. I noticed this after attaching an external monitor to my laptop, but that wouldn't affect anything would it? (Thank you.)

Just tried Chameleon and it doesn't work. I was able to access the Help file and prompt, but it says that it cannot scan.
