Can't scan an individual file

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to Malwarebytes 2.0. I've noticed that in windows 8.1, there is no option to scan an individual file when you right click on it. This is a feature that I have seen on almost every-other anti-malware program. The only way I can currently do this is to search for the file through the custom scan option.

Is this the norm or am I missing something?

Cheers

Go to General Settings and check YES for Explorer Context Menu Entry. That will solve your problem. Hope this helps.

I am just saying, that it should be checked with default install. Most users expect it to be like every other program out there.

Then, again, many users don't go through the settings first !!!!!

The End   LOL

Actually, IIRC it was disabled by default in version 2 because very few basic users use that feature. ;)

When it is enabled, most routine PROGRAM updates require a system restart.

To eliminate the need for that reboot for many basic users after most routine program updates, the feature was set to "default - OFF".

Cheers,
