Computer freezes then reboots when running MalwareBytes scan.

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

My computer recently has been having some major issues; I am waiting until I can afford a new computer, so this is on it's last legs. It does not pass the SMART test when booting up (I wanted to add that as a disclaimer). I have to go to the bios, then exit without saving changes and then I can boot into Windows 7. I'm not sure if that will have an effect on MWB or not, as everything else seems to run just fine.

When I run malwarebytes, it scans, and gets about halfway and then my computer will get very very slow (the mouse will move only a couple centimeters (crawling so slowly) then freeze and reboot.

I'm not sure if that has to do with some other technical issue on my laptop or with a particular malware issue.

I'd love advice, thanks!

Russ
