Hi:

A couple of thoughts.

First: MBAM consumer licensing switched from 1-PC, lifetime licensing for MBAM 1.x PRO, to 3-PC, subscription, renewable licensing back in March 2014 for MBAM 2 PREMIUM.  AFAIK, there are not many legitimate sources left to buy a legal, lifetime, consumer license. I would be very careful about where you shop for that type of license, as there are a lot of scammers out there.

The safest bet is to buy directly from the Malwarebytes online store -- that will be a 3-PC, renewable license.

(From time to time, the company does offer a special promotion selling a 1-PC, lifetime, version 2, Premium license -- I am not aware of any such current promotion, though.)

As for the CD, no you don't need that.
You just need a valid license ID & key.
The version of the program on the CD will be rapidly outdated.
It will always be preferable to install the software from a fresh download of the current installer.
Then you would use your ID/key to ACTIVATE.

ALSO, for additional information:

There is an FAQ Section here: Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

And there are many useful KB topics and videos at the helpdesk support page

Hi:

Well, as I mentioned, I would just be cautious.

A deal that sounds "too good to be true" probably is.

Amazon (not the marketplace) and NewEgg should be fine.

However, as I do not work for Malwarebytes (I am just a home user), I cannot personally attest to the safety or validity of the products sold at another site.

If you're comfortable purchasing there, then I would just be sure to keep a paper trail of the transaction.

Reputable sites such as those *should* be fine - product availability and prices may differ for different users in different locales, etc.

Having said that, there is no need to purchase the program on physical media.

All you need is the valid license ID and key.

Please keep that information handy, as you will need it if you ever need to reinstall MBAM on the same computer or if you ever transfer the 1-PC lifetime license to a different computer (NOT a different user).

Cheers!
