can i scan selected folder or selected file/files using the latest free version of MB

Recommended Posts

Sir,

After updating the free MB anti malware, i was not able to scan selected file/files or folders, because, if i right click and select scan, it scans threat scans on all the drives that normally a threat scan performs. Any solution

Hello and :welcome: :

Yes, there have been a few reports of this issue.

Right-click context menu scanning of a single item should be just that, not a scan of the entire system.

First, please try rebooting the system at least once, if you have not already done so (that has resolved the issue for a few users).

If that doesn't resolve your issue:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi, Root Admin

The problem was rectified in the latest version. I was using the previous version of the new improved malware bytes. I have seen that in the latest release notes. The right context menu correction was specifically mentioned. Thank you.

But let me know, what to do get the replies from this forum to my email. Is there any settings. Should i check Follow this topic to get the reply alert, sir

Hi:

1: Click the down arrow next to your screen name at the top of your display > click "My Settings".

2: Make sure your notification settings look like the screen shot.

3. Be sure to click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom on the way out.

AND, please check your spam/junk mail folders, to be sure email notifications aren't ending up there.

I hope this helps,
