Quick question about the Slow PC -Start here thread....

Hello bluegiraffe:

Your logs show your computer has at least one IObit product installed.

IObit's business model includes plagiarism.

IObit was caught plagiarizing the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware signature database.

One should NOT support a company that includes plagiarism in their business model.

I purchased I obit in good faith and had no idea about any plagiarism at the time of the purchase. I will not be renewing it.

I have also purchased all other other software on my machine including Malwarebytes and as a consumer who just uses the computer and has no technical knowledge and who simply buys things in the hope it will help I cannot possibly be expected to have known about issues of plagiarism when I bought it last year.

I have looked further at the above links regarding iobit and they are five years old! Only people in this industry and technology would know about it, not customers who purchase in good faith all these years later.

I do not support plagiarism at all and resent the implication that I do. I will not be renewing it.

I trust also that Malwarebytes has not plagiarised something too given that I purchased that in good faith as well. How would I know? How would anyone know who is just an end user? I assume all these products are designed to support customers who have no In depth technical knowledge and who just want to protect their computers and get them to run better.

Why doesn't this site emblazon it clearly for all to see about iobit instead of posting five year old links so that innocent customers considering buying it can know and are not made to feel like we have done something wrong?

Why is iobit still able to sell a plagiarised product?

a little clarification ...

i do not believe that anyone was accusing you of wantingly and knowingly supporting a company that plagiarizes others .

plagiarism and it's sundry forms ...

you are correct , it is difficult at best for the average person to know anything about who is doing what with who's properties real and intellectual .

(about as difficult as finding snake lips)

as for "posting it on a billboard to make all aware" ...

personally , i feel that it would be in bad form and cast a bad light on malwarebytes (and many other companies in the same boat) .

there are other legal aspects to this that are best left to the corporate dogs .

another point as an example ... the automobile industry ...

how many recalls and "correction" notifications really happen ?

i owned a car that had a recall ... i did not know about it until three years after the recall was *supposedly* made public .

i suppose that some of the major recalls would be hard to "hide" ... say that spastic acceleration problem that was running rampant a couple of years ago .

there is a lot of "stuff" out there to know ... i believe it to be impossible for a single person to be aware of all of it .

Hello bluegiraffe:

Your honesty and good intentions are not being questioned in the slightest.

Instead, we are attempting to make Malwarebytes' patrons more situationally aware. If we read our member's diagnostic logs and discover an IObit product in use, we will routinely bring it to their attention.

The final decision is always in your hands and we will continue to offer you technical support during your use of Malwarebytes' products.

Cheers.

Back on topic about your slow system. I helped  you already in the malware removal forum and on July 5 you had said that you reinstalled Windows. Is this computer here the same one?

The logs seem to indicate this has some issues going on with it and would not appear to be a freshly installed Windows ??

This is a different computer to the one you helped with. We have four computers in total.

Hello bluegiraffe:

Please restart the system in question, read the following, and individually attach only Log Set 2 in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.

We only wish to see an attached CheckResults.txt file in your next reply to this thread.

If however you are still unable to run the above utility, and attach its report, I recommend following the advice from the topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and have one of the Malware Removal Experts assist you with your issue.

If, as recommended, you do open a topic in Malware Removal Help, please make reference to this thread.

Thank you. :)
