Hi, vouvou:

This topic is 3 years old, so it would apply to long-outdated versions of both Avast and MBAM.

I don't personally use Avast, but the basic approach to adding its folder to the MBAM v2 malware exclusions is shown in the screen cap; needless to say, it shows *my* AV (KIS), not Avast, but the same method would apply.
Likewise, the MBAM files that would need to be excluded in Avast are shown below.
If you need more detailed help with this, you might need to check at the Avast forum or other support sources, OR please wait for a forum member here who uses Avast to reply to this thread.

Thanks,

P.S. Because this is such an old thread, the mod team might split off this post to a new, separate topic. ;)

-------------------------------

Please exclude the following files from your Antivirus Software for your version of Windows:

For 32 bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 & 8:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware \mbamscheduler.exe

Note: If you are using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall, you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE and MBAMSERVICE.EXE from it as well.

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products. Although it is a bit outdated, the general approach still applies.
