Unable to update

Recommended Posts

Hello atranger and :welcome:

The best way to preserve your license ID and Key is to store them separately from the MBAM installation. If the license was emailed to you from cleverbridge, please save the email as it will also have your invoice and reference numbers.
If your license ID and Key become separated from a physically boxed retail sale, Malwarebytes will not be able to help you.

You seem to have a relatively large number of items in quarantine that do need to be resolved.

Also, if you have other unresolved malware discoveries from MBAM scans, they will need to be resolved too.

Regarding your update issue, let's start here:

  • Please try the following and let us know if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  • The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are: 1) CheckResults.txt 2) FRST.txt 3) Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located in Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions.

Please let us know the status of your issue in a reply to this thread.

Thank You. :)

I have Malwarebytes Premium 2.0.2.1012 and when I click on the update button, nothing happens

If I may pop in here briefly -- before you embark on the reinstallation process, have you checked to see if you have any "Detected Threats" (especially PUPs or PUMs) pending from a recent scan?

That will prevent updating and is easily fixed without having to reinstall the program.

Open the main dashboard > Scan and see if there are any "Detected Threats" that await your actions.

If there are scan items waiting for your actions, please take care of those (quarantine, as appropriate).

Then you ought to be able to update.

If this doesn't apply to your situation and/or it doesn't resolve your issue, then by all means, please do proceed with 1PW's suggested troubleshooting.

<Just a thought, to save you a bit of time>

Cheers,
