upgrade problems

Hello, i recently upgraded from the free version to the paid version. the free version was working just fine until i upgraded now i try to do anything it says that malware bytes has stopped working and asks me to close it debug it or check for a solution.

I understand that MBAM is crashing, but it's not quite clear when this is happening ("trying to do anything" is a bit non-specific).
